GHISOLANA SUGGESTS

Villa Maser

The Palladian villa

Of all the Venetian Villas, only in Maser did the intellectual genius of Daniele and Marcantonio Barbaro, the Villa’s patrons, meet the innovative vision of Andrea Palladio, the skill and inventiveness of Paolo Veronese, and the decorative elegance of Alessandro Vittoria. The union of these minds created a place that became an expression of the intense artistic and intellectual fervor that characterized 16th-century Venice, becoming a milestone in the history of modern architecture.

Today, the Villa di Maser cultural hub shares its treasure trove of beauty and culture, reaching out to new generations and offering opportunities for exchange and research in collaboration with universities, festive seasonal presentations of local produce, workshops for children and adults, readings, concerts, tastings, school visits, and many other initiatives.

Architecture and frescoes

A 16th-century UNESCO World Heritage Site, Villa di Maser is an inhabited house, a masterpiece by architect Andrea Palladio, and offers visitors year-round access to the most important fresco cycle by the painter Paolo Veronese.

Thanks to meticulous work made possible by European Community funding, the original residential structure has recently been restored to its original state, nestled in the heart of its agricultural estate, which thrives on vegetable gardens, orchards, and greenhouses. Here, meetings and guided tours explore art, history, and innovation, and discuss nature and sustainability, the past and the future.
